Global reach and reliable delivery

Use Surface Mail to send letters outside Europe (Airmail is the only option for sending letters to Europe). Small Packets and Printed Papers can be sent worldwide, including Europe.

Likely delivery times:

• Western Europe: up to 2 weeks from date of posting
• Eastern Europe: up to 5 weeks
• North America: up to 6 weeks
• South America, Africa and Asia: up to 8 weeks
• Australasia: up to 12 weeks.
•  Surface mail should have 'SURFACE' written on the front top left corner of your item.

Easy to use

All you need to do is fill in the appropriate customs label (for items containing goods to non EU destinations) and you can send Surface Mail from over 11,000 Post Office® branches and over 100,000 Postboxes®. Or simply send it with your usual business collection, using a franking machine or Online Business Account.

Please make sure you know what customs documents you need to complete before sending mail overseas. We provide you with pre-printed labels that you can either pick up from your local Post Office™ or download as a PDF below:

• For goods under £270 in value, download customs declaration CN22
• For goods over £270 in value, download customs declaration CN23
